Mysterious vintage A.Zildjian Kenny Clarke hi hats. Please help!

Loading...

Hi,

so i bought these pair of vintage A.Zildjian 15" hi hats from a guy whose father was a professional drummer. They are in very good shape, has the regular 60's A. Zildjian stamp and they are pretty thin. The interesting thing is the "Kenny Clarke pair" stamp on the bottom hi hat. I guess your all familiar with the drummer, if not look him up (one of the greatest bebop era drummers). Played on early Miles Davis etc.

What could this be? The Kenny Clark stamp looks factory made, please help me to solve this mystery! Could it actually be Kenny Clarks hi hats?

Kenny Clarke was listed as a Zildjian player in their 1958, 1969 and 1976 'Cymbal Set-Ups' books. Only the 1958 shows him playing 15" hi-hats.

FYI

Never play it the same way once.
