Can anyone tell me more about this kit?

Loading...

Hey all,

I got this old wmp kit along with the 1940's Ludwig & Ludwig snare drum I just bought.

No badges, but Premier stamped on the hardware inside the shells.

Can anyone confirm me this is indeed a Premier drum set?

What might be the year of production and how much could it be worth (bass drum, tom, floor, hardware and cymbal stands)?

Thanks a lot!!!

Best,

Mark

there are two different types of Premier tom mounts on the bass drum. 1 is a 70s mount and the other looks 50s/60s. There are imperial lugs on the tom which suggests Ludwig and I'm not sure about the rest. Interesting score and I'm sure someone will come along with all the answers soon.

Andrew, thanks for the reply and the helpful info. I also noticed the different lugs on the tom but the hardware is stamped "Premier" inside this tom as well... Very strange...

What hardware in the tom are you referring to? I have just finished restoring a 1930s Beverley (pre-Premier ownership) that had imperial lugs so it may be a Beverley. Here's the link to the thread on my drum to compare http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=36941

I don`t recall Premier badged drums with imperial style lugs but do remember some of their other brands that had similar to imperial lugs.

The T-rods may be older premier on the BD.

What inside hardware are we talking about ?

By hardware I just meant the part of the tom mount inside the tom. I took a few extra shots of the shell. Light white coat on the wood and "4710" stamped.
