I just picked up a what I believe is a 60s Zildjian 24" ride with 6 rivets in very good condition. No ink. Only the stamp, which could be from the mid 50s to 1970 or so. Very complex cymbal. Lots of sounds. Great bell. What do you folks think it might be worth?
24" z sizzle. Value?
is it an old A or old K?
OK. I weighed it on my bathroom scale and it comes in at about 5 lbs. According to my math (Which is suspect) that is 2240 G. This seems like a pretty light weight for a 24. Also checked completed listings on ebay. A similar cymbal to mine sold for $425.
That scale could be a little off as that would be a light weight even for a 22".

Thats what I was thinking. I may take it to the post office and get them to weigh it. It is a thin cymbal, and bendable with light pressure. I just weighed a 22" Sabian Manhattan on the same scale. 4lbs. Also a thin cymbal.
OK. I took it to the post office and got a better number. They said 6lbs 11.9oz. My math says that is about 3021 Grams.
Guess your scale is a tad off...but I bet it makes you feel mighty good when you are dieting ?!Falling Do
$400-ish is probably right.
Up or down a bit depends upon whether we can determine it to be a '50's or '70's. A pic would help, we could see the hammering/lathing patterns..that would give it away.

I'll try to get a pic up.The logo is 1 3/16 tall has the three dots and bold zidjian lettering.(not block lettering).
It looks machine hammered to me but not like new ones.
OK. I posted a pic but on the thread "24" z sizzle. Pic."
