From Purdie Shuffle

Please feel free to post a photo of Arnie's creation. I'd love to see it! I'm sure others would too. ExcitedJohn

Okay, here you go.... You would think it would be a thing of beauty coming from Arnie Lang. Nope. Snare drum in the raw, and that's the idea. It is nicknamed "The Animal" with a rough copper shell that had acid splashed on it for effects (instant patina). He used an unfinished, in the raw, Gladstone type strainer (even the tension knob is a rough brass fixture). 8 tube lugs. In spite of it's looks, it is one of the best sounding snare drums I own.

(Sorry, hope I didn't hijack your thread.)

That is a stunner! Gorgeous hunk of drum that is. I now have two bronze shelled drums, I'm going to have to add a copper shell to the arsenal.

Thanks for posting the photo. Beautiful drum. Love the throw-off on that thing. Bowing

Have to revive this thread having just got one of the re-issues. No muffler but close enough. Super smart of Ludwig to bring these back. I've heard it's somewhat of a limited run, possibly for one year but that could be hype. Very light weight. It sounds great.

Thanks for posting that photo! Now I'm wondering if someone at Ludwig read my suggestion a few posts back in this thread and ran with the ball! Hey Ludwig! How about sending me a sample drum for copping my idea? lol (Right, fat chance!)

I'll have to try one of these new re-issues out!

Of the 200 made you don't see too many Keystones. So they changed badges in the middle of the run?

Gorgeous bs13. Different buff on the shell than the new ones. How did it come to you?

Yea, I was psyched to get a keystone one...I got it from a forum member here I believe. He found it by accident said he may sell it. I asked him to keep me in mind if he ever decided to sell. He contacted me soon after...very lucky to have this one
