Lido Supreme Snare Drum

That is a sweet looking drum. Love the wrap, and that badge looks like it came straight off a classic 1950's car!

This drum has been sitting in the closet way too long! I finally buckled down and completed it! The finish is the somewhat rare "Peacock Pearl", which has been cleaned, buffed and polished with Novus 1 and 2. It looks great!Fairly time-consuming to gently remove the "Lido Supreme" badge and clean it with chrome polish. Again, came out really nice!Slingerland-style lugs with metric tension rods and Zoomatic-style strainer. The butt is a generic one I had that fit the original holes. There is a small hole just below the top rim, directly above the strainer. Not sure why it's there! Only missing the muffler. Not quite sure what model it takes, as the two holes are placed in about the middle of the shell and "normal" mufflers don't align the felt to the top of the shell. The shell is 3-ply, no reinforcing hoops, and about 1/4" thick. Fairly decent edges, too!I believe this drum to be around very late 60's to early 70's and built by Star (Tama). Any additional information is welcome and appreciated!Mark

WOW Mark.

That has got to be one of the most beautiful wraps I have ever seen.

Really gorgeous. The early Japanese makers certainly knew what they were doing design wise with the wrap and badge design on these drums. Impressive.

Nice job on the restoration.

But you never answered an earlier poster _ How does the drum sound?

Best

Sorry about the long delay, as I never noticed this response. The drum sounds quite nice! Of course, I only tapped it a few times before it took its place on my drum shelf at my girlfriend's house. Need to post pictures of the Drum Room!
