Yes, metal hoops help hold the thinner shells more in round.

I could not be 100% sure, by what I can see from the one distant picture

but the bass drum lugs look like Tama

I have a few swingstar kits with them

and they seem to be different than the ones used on the other shells

I do love that wrap though very cool Kenwood

Looking further it seems to me that only "some" of the bass drum lugs

are Tama most likely used to replace a few broken originals?

I would be interested to see a better shot of the bass drum
