**Mint** 1930`s SLINGERLAND RADIO KING

Loading...

Hello dear vintage drum fans, I just picked up this amazing drum, I have never seen another in this sort of condition with ORIGINAL rare case (look at the pretty inner lining)with key!! , inner Case and even rarer Slingerland Radio King Drum Key that looks more like a Victorian door key. The drum looks new and is all original, I even have the original heads now taken off as i am using the drum. What do you think i know they turn up in the USA but never in this sort of condition with cases and mega rare drum key. Thanks for looking John. Ps this drum is not for sale as I want to keep her. I have taken 7 piuctures for you to see this very rare gem of a drum.

Can you post close ups pics of the throw off and butt end, and also of the badge. the lugs do not match the the time frame of the badge or the tone control. Both rims should be engraved slingerland radio king, are they I can not tell? Here is an early 30's Rk of mine this is the proper equipment for a 30's Radio king

I was thinking the same thing. The Sound King Lugs came out in 1955. And it has a mahogany interior so it's obviously not a single ply maple. However, it's a very nice looking drum with a great case and cool drum key. So you may want to research a bit further into this drum.

2004 Gretsch Catalina Birch Caribbean Blue

your link isn't working, sorry. just to recap as already mentioned the Soundking lugs were not in production until 1955, the cigar lugs are very prone to breakage so a lot of them got replaced with the newer soundking lug as the hole spacing is the same.
