Had my phone out taking photos for another post and thought I'd share these old hats I have while I'm at it. I've had these since the late 70's ... came to me thru my dad who got them along with a used EW Kent 60's kit (it's long gone). I don't know anything on their history prior to that. I have never really liked the way they sound ... too thick for the 12" size in my opinion.
I'm not 100% sure they were intended to be hi hats ... but they came to us on a hi hat stand :) ... one is heavier than the other like most hats are, and only one is stamped. The Made in Italy ink stamp is identical on both cymbals ... the a,d and i are faint on both ... like they didn't quite get enough ink on the stamp or the stamp had something going on with it ... just interesting.
Anyway ... just wanted to share since I have not seen anything quite like these ... size and the hollow block logo. Maybe someone knows more about them, or maybe this will help fill in some blanks for someone else.
