30's WFL kit

Loading...

Hey guys.

Do you think these are worth asking price of $375? Sizes are, according to seller, 28, 13, 15, and 6x14.

My gut says yes, but just need some reinforcement. It will be a lot of work, but I'm thinking I'd be stripping the covering off to repaint and tack new skins.

Does anyone know what model kit this would be and whether that FT should be tacked bottom, or are there lugs missing?

Thanks a lot.

The floor tom is correct wise in that no it should not be a tacked bottom drum, It does look like it is missing a lug on the floor tom? also why are you going to re-wrap it for? This will cost you a ton of dough to do so because of the 28" bass drum.

It's been re-covered in Sparkle Brite that is apparently blotchy and falling apart. I'm not going to cover again. I would have them painted or I'll strip/stain/poly myself.

Does the $ seem right for that amount of work? I'd probably keep these.

Ok understood. to a point it is going to be a money pit. tacked bottom toms have low resale value, and as I mentioned the cost to recover it, but that is a killer price for the kit.

At $375.00, think about how this would compare to a brand new CB drum set at around the same price and make your decision from there. Yes, it'll need some work but when you're done you'll end up with something special. I'd do it!! It'll probably be worth it for the snare alone.

I could be wrong but that snare looks deeper than 6". More like 7-8" to me and sure looks nice. I have no idea on value but those are some cool old drums~! If they are local and no heavy shipping costs they' be very fun to have.

I would buy these. Not my money, but .... Seems like a labor of love fun project. BTW, is that a circa late 1970s photo of Erin Moran aka Joanie Cunningham in the background? Joanie loves Chachi? LoLoLoLo
