Retired Philly jazz drummer

Loading...

I've been stalking some Zildjian vintage hi hat cymbals -- 15" from the '50s -- for some time and keep coming upon the same seller on ebay who has what seems to have an never-ending supply of old Zild jazz hats from that period. He describes himself as a retired jazz drummer fro the Philadelphia area and says he is acting as a broker for other drummer friends who are selling off their old stuff. He writes up almost the exact same back story/description of the hats (with updated weights) with every sale. Anybody know anything about him? He has a great rating and the bidding is almost always breakneck. (Always ends Sunday night too.) I'm curious. (I also never win his auctions.)

Thanks, Joey. That's very kind. His listing says he's in Morrisville, which I believe is just across the river from Trenton? I'm not suggesting anything sinister here. The guy just kind of fascinates me. Every two or three weeks, he's got another new listing of old pies for sale.

I'll tell you Shawn, the last five minutes of those auctions are like Pork Chop Hill. I've been shot down four or five times in the last 15 seconds.

Yup...I too, have never won an auction of his.

He does have some very interesting stuff though.

Man, got sniped again last night. It looks like he had five bids in the last 35 seconds for some 1955 jazz hats. Congrats, whoever got 'em.

But in two weeks, like clock work, he'll have another pair for sale. Always does.

Don't feel bad. I've never won any auctions from him either.

Then again, I never bid on any of his auctions.

So I guess maybe that just might have had something to do with it.
