I just bought a set and had a few questions like

1-there are 2 different claws(see picture)the rods are held in place at 2 points on the left one and only in 1 place on the right side one. Do you stagger them?

2-what is the little rubber piece for?

3-I will need the grey knob and the spring(and whatever else I need) for the muffler for the front head on the bass drum

That should do for starters.Thanks,Vati

Calfskin knows an awful lot about Trixon, amongst other things.

Good luck.

Hwy V- The claw on the right is like the one i have on my 1967-68 set of "VOX" drums that were made by Trixon..On my 1965 set of Trixon's the claw on the left is on that set..

The little black rubber piece i think goes on a cymbal stand top like a metal washer and felt washer would go...Mikey

Hello

From my days when I ran a drum shop (30 years ago now!) I only saw one Trixon set and as I recall (???) the one lug bits were on the tight curve of the hoop - if I think that's what you mean! The black bit looks like a cymbal mount and the best of luck with the head I can't remember but would guess it was vellum.

I just looked at the claws on my speedfire bass drum. All of them look like the the right side picture, open on the back. I am fairly certain mine are original, since the set was in storage for 40 years. You may have a some claws from a different year.

Vati,

Did you know that the late&great John "Bonzo" Bonham's VERY 1st kit was a Trixon?, true! :), it's in the bonza&grouse book written by Chris Welch&Geoff Nicholls &i think also mentioned in the book written about him(Bonzo) by his brother Mick Bonham.

Ingo's book and his dvd of catalogs are great helps.

You can never get all the info you need, but a surprising amount of technical info is addressed.
