Is it possible for you to upload a photo or two of the rods you need? That would be helpful considering how many variations can be found in older MIJ kits. Most likely the threads will measure 5mm x .9mm, or 6mm x 1mm, or possibly even 1/4 - 20". Close up photos of the threaded ends may help identify whether or not you need the finer metric threading or the more coarse threads. A photo of the "T" handle is important also if you want all the parts to match when you put it all back together. Not at all uncommon on older (and yes on some of the newer) MIJ kits to have bass drum rod thread sizes different than the ones used on the smaller drums. Then go to the nearest quality hardware supplier and purchase two pocket size thread gauges - one for U.S. threads and one for metric threads. They're inexpensive, a long term investment, and will always let you know thread measurements without having to guess. It's almost a given that someone on the forum will have the rods you need.

Thanks for the info! I tried to upload pics, but I can't make it work. Hopefully someone that knows what size Majestic Deluxe rods are will come across this thread. Otherwise I'm out of luck. I would just buy different inserts and rods that fit, but I can't remove all the lugs because the bolts are rusted and stripped.

I believe I have what you're looking for. How are you measuring the length? Overall, my tension rods are about 3", but the proper way is to measure them from just below the collar to the end of the threads. Measured that way, my tension rods are just a hair over 2.5". I have both Lyra and Majestic drums that use these smaller diameter metric rods. I"ll try to post a picture tomorrow.

It sounds like those are it. Measured under the collar, mine are just over 2.5" as well. They're a smaller diameter than standard rods too. If you have 8 of them you can part with, I would have a complete Majestic kit in sparkly orange, and I would be one happy dude. Thanks for your help.
