Could it be 3 ply. Maple-Poplar-Mahogni ?
It could...or it could be 5 ply...or something else. We would need pics, serial numbers, badges, ... something to help narrow this down. Is it possible to get some shots?
1970' Vintage Slingerland Drum Set
This is the only picture there is.. dont have the serial number..
Pics would help....obvious difference, chr_dot, would be if you see reinforcing rigns in the shell. if so, it's either mahog/poplar/maple...or, in the '70's, I think they were also doing maple/poplar/maple.
If there are no rings and the shells are thicker, then it's the more rockin' 5-ply variety.
The bass drum shows re-rings...so it's a 3-ply. The exterior ply is either mahogany or maple....
badges are black/silver so it's a 70's...I would think it to be maple/pop/maple....
NIIIICE kit...WOW !
is it me or is that badge really crooked on that floor tom?....hmmm.
