What is a COW drum?

Chrome Over Wood.

If you look in the 'General Questions' section, you'll see a sticky with a 'Glossary of Terms', which includes all the abreviations. COB = Chrome Over Brass, BDP = Black Diamond Pearl, etc.

Best.

Here is my set, its a Rocker 2 with granitone shells.

Wow. Those are some POWER toms!

What was the difference between Rocker and Rocker II? Looks like the same lugs and shells.

Just so you know, the following is what is included: The shell, with the muffler and badge attached, and both hoops. This was originally a COW drum in which the wrap was in terrible shape. It was professionally re-wrapped in NOS 70's white cortex wrap. The interior was painted black, which I removed, then painted white. What is interesting is it's a pointy B/W badge, with no serial #. I could do $40 plus shipping.

Nice price. I actually love the sound of my Rockers snare.

The rocker II sets had the granitone interiors on a "super classic" 4 ply shell. The rockers were sealed and clear coated 6ply shells. Typically the rocker II sets had cheaper hardware like classic L rod Tom holders, straight telescoping bass drum spurs, and metal bass drum hoops.

For a time it seems all the snares were plastic chrome o wood.

I suspect the drums come from the 10 pc set pictured in the black and white rocker catalog, the other half of the set is probably 12" 13" 14" 15" 22".

There was originally no 18" floor Tom for rocker II.

Hi,

I'm thinking about buying a Ludwig drum kit but the guy doesn't know anything about it and i'm trying to figure out if it is worth the 250€. The guy only knows it's from the 1980's.

According to what is said in a thread I found on this site it might be a Rocker kit (shells with clear laquer inside, classic lugs, solid bass drums spurs) but the tom holder doesn't look like the ones on the pictures in the thread.

So is it the Taiwan version made after 1994 with the pearl type holders? Despite the fact the guy said it was from the 1980's... and I guess it is not worth it.

Or is it a USA Ludwig ?

1. Drum Shell Material -- Wood

2. Drum Finish -- Black Rhodoid

3. Drum Badge -- Black & White badges (round corners)

3. Drum Dimensions -- Looks like: 22", 12", 13", 16", 14"

4. Interior Finish -- Natural, clear laquer

5. Hardware Configuration -- Classic ludwig type lugs (kick=8, toms=6 i guess)

7. Pictures below

Thanks !
