Okay, y'all...out of appreciation for everything you've taught me, every answer to my iggerant questions, I just have to share this.

http://www.brettunsvillage.com/leather/parts/rivets.htm

Scroll down to almost the bottom of the page, to 5/16s rivets....

described as "looking old"

At $8 per hundred, there's plenty to share. I ordered a hundred.

Would not suprise me if there were more than a few people on here that 1 bag would not cover their collection

Hey, thanks for the pointer. I was looking for exactly this! Very much appreciated, very much.

Best,

Magnus

PS. I love the resto jobs you do on the honourable Speedkings, too. I've done a few myself, but nowhere nearly as nice as those you do. DS.

No. You're kidding! I ordered a pack and with international shipping and handling it came to a total of 22 USD!!!

I guess I'll have to start doing some leatherwork then....

Wait a minute. You said the heads are too small? You say the heads are 7/16"; that is almost a half inch--which is bigger than 5/16". The ad says the heads are 1/4" in diameter. Doesn't make sense....marko

Hey jsjazz,

I think I was sent the same kind of rivets as you: short-stemmed brass ones with a big, slightly rounded head (almost like an old-time thumb tack). Since you say they work nicely, I wanted to ask you if the legs/stems aren't too short. I would have thought so.

Please explain a little.

I find it very strange that the supplier obviously seems to have shipped whatever they had to all the drummers who ordered the Rvt 127 when they ran out of them. To their defense, they are making good now, so that's great.
