Thanks longjohn. There has to be some people on the board who have owned. played and have information of this kit. I've come across a lot of drum over the years but never an old Pearl kit like this. I enjoy the process of discovering drums that I have never come across before and the people on the forum are full of information and willing to share. :)

Those are identical to the drums we picked up except for the exterior covering. His were solid black.Same badges/lugs etc.That finish is certainly an upgrade from his.The snare was the same.

A friend and I drove to Cape Cod to pick up a set of the first Exports,and have all you've described but the wood finish and hoops.Only the BD head says Export,not the badges.Oversize dimensions,greenish speckle interiors,7/8 tube with logo on the mounting plate.

Do remember if the bass drum tom mounting plate had the word Pearl extending out from the front? I'm confused by the snare having a serial number but not the rest of the kit? That's why I didn't think it was original to the kit and the fact there is nothing on the other drums to indicate they were Export models?
