It's the "show off your Rogers drums" thread!

I discovered a great picture of the band that played there... complete with a 9pc, double bass!, Rogers kit. The color appears to be New England White. Check out that 10x14 marching snare drum!http://brooksberdanltd.com/?page_id=1788#band

That 9pc set is so gorgeous I had to post the pic (and links go dead without notice). My first brand new set was almost identical to this one but in Ebony. Let's keep this thread alive; it's turning into one of the most hit threads on the forum!

OK AMOSGUY, if the big 'R' red onyx has been made so by new wrap, which wrap did you use; Jammin' or Precision?

And never mind the New England White swivo set. How about a drummer that can handle that many drums??? Anyone notice how many Danny Seraphine is handling these days. Fortunately, he probably has a roadie, but the guy playing the New England whites has to lug all that!

Thanks,

How many drums is Danny using these days?

Funny,I was just going to email him today to see if he would want to replicate the famous WMP Rogers kit he told me he GAVE AWAY years ago....Eye Ball

He also said "What was I thinking?".....I had to laugh when he said that...

Maybe someone can post a pic of that kit?

Thanks

It's absolutely wonderful to know that our beloved Rogers drums are alive and well! Regardless of American brand, it harkens us back to a time when our drums were made by a relatively small group of people, who, for the most part, loved what they were doing, and not on an assembly line somewhere in the orient! It isn't often that you see a large "Swivomatic" set of drums much over 4 or 5 drums. This provided link is from the memorial service at "Brooks Berdan, LTD" in Monrovia, Ca, back in August, 2011. It's a high-end audio store with just the coolest stuff and nicest people. I'd been there quite a few times, but was not aware that the owner, Brooks Berdan, had passed away. When I clicked on the memorial link, I discovered a great picture of the band that played there... complete with a 9pc, double bass!, Rogers kit. The color appears to be New England White. Wow... 1967?! You, my friend, were a true innovator! Cool1Bowing Love the way you have the Swivo tom holder going up INSIDE the tom! So, all 8x12 toms with no bottoms? How much tone difference did you get... or did it really matter? LoLoLoLo

Here is a pic of my new to me 67 Rogers Wildwood Kit. The color has faded significantly, but they look cool and sound even better! I have another 12" tom that matches, making it a Londoner 5 setup. I am going to gig them for the first time tomorrow night. I already had them at a rehearsal, and they sounded as good or better than any I have played.
