My new Pearl 60's snare

Just won this on Ebay i got it cheap..A late 60's Pearl 10 lug wood snare,i don't know what the shell is made of,i will know in a week when the drum gets to me..The drum does need some work someone painted it white over that looks to be silver sparkle or W.M.P. look to the left of the badge any guess's?...Mikey

I think that is duct tape residue...we'll soon find out.

Yes, its hard to tell what it is but looks like the chrome will shine up nice. How do you plann to remove the paint?

jeff, I will used Goof-Off to remove the paint it works great on removing paint's and it does not hurt the finish..

I know the photo is not the best its from the listing,but looking at it when i made it bigger it's looks to be silver sprakle oe W.M.P. under the paint,I does not look like tape has been on the drum..

Now the wait to i get the drum.,,,Mikey

The drum came in today.Now the run down on the drum..

The shell is 9 ply wood

the strainer needs to be replaced-i have them N.O.S..

The shell has no extra holes..

The cool cool part the shell in Not Silver Sparkle or even W.M.P.

The shell is Blue D.P..

I will post some before and after photos when i have some time to work on the drum...Mikey
