26" Zildjian Medium Ride

Loading...

i recently acquired this 26" Zildjian Ride from a relative who's had it stored away for quite some time. i was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this cymbal. i haven't had a chance to weigh it yet, but it seems like it maybe rare. thanks.

It looks like a 70's stamp but was probably made earlier then 70's. How's it sound?

I think the ink stamp is cool.

it has nice stick definition and a killer bell, but doesn't sound as big as i anticipated. although, i've never played anything larger than a 24".

26" Rides don't necessarily sound 'big'. I think maybe their forte is stick definition. If you decide you don't want it, PM me; I'd be interested.

Best.

nice..

the biggest I have is a 24"..the 26" with the embossed stamp is a early 70s..

is there any ink logo on it that says Zildjian (in big writting)?

or look closely to see if it was lightly sanded away..

otherwise..it looks like an early 70s to me..

they weren't known to make big big cyms in the 50s/ early/mid60s

do u have a cym case for it..?..lolol

great bell & usually crashable..

but if you check along the edge ...you'll find the sweet spot..

I had a Trans Stamp 25" once, and I know Mousy Alexander favored huge rides back in the day...so,....they did make large ones way back when....
