Yet another project - Premier 202?

Having just got a 'Premier 35' snare and been told how good the 2000 snare is, I went and bought this kit. I think it's a 202 in 20/13/16 & 2000 snare, but tell me if I'm wrong. It is missing the correct 13 and 16 reso hoops an internal damper and a few other small sundry items. Also came with some 14" UFIP Ritmo HH cymbals that are quite nice. The snare is a bit flakey but that seems to be the common state for one of these, much like the Supra.

Even here in NZ Premier seems to be under-valued. This kit was not a lot of money and despite my lack of space at the moment I think I'll be keeping this one.

nice score...i only purchased a late 60's premier a few months ago and just sold it :(....mrs is on maternity leave and we need the cash! i am so spewing it was a very nice sounding/looking kit...it was either that or the newer gretsch kit. my kit came with 2000 snare, 22, 13, 16 as well. the snare didnt have the original throw with dual snare wires, but it was a very nice sounding snare drum. i would of loved to have heard it with the original set up? enjoy your purchase and you will have lots of fun with it.

i cant wait for the mrs to be back at work next year, so i can track down another premier!

Those are really attractive drums. Blu shimmer is a fantastic finish in my opinion.

Finally finished this project. Getting some of the parts, particularly small stuff like washers and odd size lug screws has been a bit of a mission. All done now though.

Unfortunately the BD has lost its shimmer on the top due to years of sunlight and the chrome on the snare isn't the flashest but otherwise it's a nice kit and sounds really good too.

thanks guys. Tell you what though, these Premier kits use some interesting thread sizes on screws etc. There were some lug screws and sliding washers missing and this really dragged out the restoration. Something to consider when tackling one of these.

The chrome is excellent. Premier have a good rep when it comes to chrome.

Beautiful kit.

Yep, those threads can pull your hair out. Even here in old Europe it is difficult and costy to catch the matching screws (ebay UK is a good source).

The chrome was done by Rolls-Royce at that time, that's self-explaining, isn't it?
