Hey all, I recently got this kit. No badges or stamps other than "Japan" on it. Can anyone tell me what brand it is? I have put new heads and snares on the drums and it sounds pretty cool. Thanks.
Unknown Japanese Brand
Most likely a Pearl-built stencil of some type, due to the lug and bass drum T-rod shapes.Dozens of different "brand"names to choose from.

Maybe a Star/Tama stencil? Mid 60's to mid 70's with the hotdog tom mount on bass drum?
Sweet kit you have there!
The pic isn't clear enough, but it sounds like the rail consolette is not a Star one (ergo it's Pearl).
I could tell if I had a close-up pic of the rail consolette and one of the strainer part from the snare drum as well.

NB: what has happened to the reso head at the bass drum? First attempts of a small child with a black felt pen? baby crawl2
The hi-hat stand is certainly Pearl. I don't know if that came with the kit though.

That is a nice find - the FT is the prized piece. Not uncommon to find those without the matching FT. I would agree, based on what is seen so far (better pics would help) that is a Pearl stencil. Muffler knobs and FT leg mounts might help as well (may confirm).
