Help identifying vintage Yamaha drums

Loading...

These drums are for sale near me but I know very little about vintage Yamaha drums, but enough to know that there are some decent sets out there, and some not-so-decent sets (i.e. possible firewood). If anyone has any thoughts on these that would be great. I emailed the seller and he confirmed the floor is a 14" (looks more like a 16" in the photos), and he also sent me some of these photos from the badges.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Keith

Here's a link to a photo of the badge, not sure why the Insert Image function isn't working for me:

nice set and one owner too. These are the basic model but really well made. They are made of Birch and lauan. Some of these have re-rings and some don't. I have the same kit in red and it's great! Even by USA standards $400 is very reasonable for that kit. Go get it.

Awesome, thanks folks! Really appreciate your input as I definitely had no clue about these drums. The hardware being included is definitely a plus so I think I'm gonna go take a look at these asap and try to grab 'em.

Until then, keep the comments coming if you all don't mind!

Thanks again,

Keith

here's the same kit in action. They are nice sizes too. Mine has the 13/16 toms but I'd prefer the 12/14 set up.

Very cool video and great sounding/looking kit.

Is that dog deaf? Cause my pets run to the furthest point of the house as soon as they hear sticks being picked up.

well it's not me or my dog but it does look a lot like my dog. My dog isn't too keen on the drums either but she will stick around sometimes just to be involved and whenever i'm photographing drums she tries to get in the frame.

gotta agree with you there. Hey, it's not a screaming deal if it were an average example but being so complete and unmolested and a Yamaha from the 60s...well I'd buy them
