ive been watching old reruns of the partridge family and so far ive seen a blue sparkle red sparkle and a white marine pearl set they all look to be a stincil set but they dont really do closeups of the drums for obvious reasons. i cant imagine that it was a slingerland or ludwig kit. even though criss partidge at 10 years old had major chops like hal blaine the drums were just a prop. but still i would like to know if they used a pearl or star kit on the show
the partridge family
I thought he played like Hal Blaine, too!
ludwig standards in this pic
im surprised they would use ludwig drums weren't standerds entry level kits? my brother had a set.
The Sex Pistols used them too!
C'mon! Look at the angles of the snare vs. ride tom. Watch any show and Chris is clearly not playing, silly people. (I do like the blue sparkle, though.) Hal must be turning in his.....oh, wait, he's still with us.

Bill,
I think the above comments regarding Chris's chops being somewhat akin to those of Hal Blaine we're made with one's tounge firmly planted in one's cheek. A bit of leg pulling if you will. I agree with you on the blue sparkle though. Love that particular color used on the Standards.
Very proud owner of a new Blaemire Snare 6.5 x 14 made by Jerry Jenkins "Drumjinx"
To be perfectly honest, back then, I didn't care what kind of drums were used. I was too busy watching Susan Dey as Laurie!

So was my tongue. It was a play on a recently, similar topic.

Ah yes, my favorite topic - the Partridge Family. I owned almost every LP. Yeah Chris played a blue Ludwig Standard set, but by no means would I regard this as entry level or cheap right? It was just less expensive hardware on the same great Ludwig shells we all know and love. Just saw an identical kit on ebay for $995 w/matching snare. A bit overpriced. But hell that's on my list of kits to get - and I'll adorn the bass head with the PF logo too !!
