My son is looking at a set of Premier's from the mid '70s. Its a 13/16/22 set with what looks like a 4"x 14 chrome snare with the internal mechanism that maintains snare tension when the snares are off the head. ( I used to have a slightly deeper version of that snare in the early-mid '60s) The other shells seem to be mahogany with very thick reinforcement rings at the bearing edges.
The only thing that appears to be missing is one of the spur rods. I don't have a picture of it, but to lengthen or shorten the rods, there is a tab which must be depressed on the spur bracket. Assuming what I'm asking about is clear enough, does anyone have any idea if such a replacement spur rod can be found? The spur brackets are intact and working, but there is only one rod. I suppose i could get another steel rod of similar diameter somewhere, but the bracket probably has a metric sized hole so this might be an issue.
A finsl question. Since these spurs go straight out to the sides, as most vintage spurs did back then, bass drum creep could be an issue. Many years ago I had a small clamp with two rubber feet, and which reversed to two spikes, which was intended to be attached to the front hoop to prevent forward creep. Anything like that still exist?
