Tama Imperialstar King Beat snare
You could replace the missing strands of wire to the original set. Secure the original wires on a bench by using something like painter's tape across each of the end pieces. Use a nice temperature controlled soldering iron 700-750 F, flow the solder and add snipped strands from a sacrificial standard wire set.
Good point on replacing the wire's i have done many of these repair's over the year's also custom wire's at the shop. But you don't want to use tape to hold down the wire's when doing this. The way i do it is i have a piece of 2x4 wood i lay down the wire's on i first put a nail at one end in the hole, then i lighty pull the wire's so they lay flat Don't pull the wire's tight, then i remove the bad or replace the wire's....Mikey

i got one like the one in the OP. I had to replace the muffler with a tama roystar for the time being. i lucked out and the local music store had a set of the pure sound wires kicking around. i traded a paiste 3000 crash and a pearl boom to acquire this ....... really happy to have this for the collection
