STAR drum - help in ID / BLACK HORSE

Loading...

Hello!

It's my 2-nd post :)

I have vintage parts by STAR.

Maybe somebody know which modell it is?

In which year was produced?

I think this logo is from 1967...

I am searching catalogues site about this instrument and colour.

Sonor tom holder are vintage? or maybe new?

It's original?

How much are worth these parts?

I am searching info about "Blach Horse" drum too...

I hope You can help me... Thanks for reply!

Best Regards from Poland!

Europa is a good place for STAR(S)

Do you have pics of the compete kit, rail or arm for toms. Details.

Very sweet wrap and looks in good condition.

From all over the world (Canada, USA, New Zealand, Australia, France, belgium and of course germany) the club of Star Heads wants one thing: More pictures.

Gentlemen, one more in the Club!

STAR WMP 22-13-16-cc14 (inside grey finish)
STAR Gold Flame 22-13-16-cc14

WALSTIB nails it: No pics - no fun (neither for us - nor for you, 'cause we can't comment what we can't see)!

The silver/ round STAR badge was a little bit later: I'd suggest around 1970.

But the 'Black Horse' snare is a cheap modern snare drum. Nothing to talk about in this Vintage club. From time to time 'Black Horse' drumsets are for sale here in Germany - but it's really cheap stuff.

Ralf

NB: oh, the wrap on your STAR set is one, which is not very common.

I agree, my friend. The Stars I use to play (the ones you posted for me) all have the round badge. The greater part of my kit was from 1971. The round badges may have gone right through until Star became Tama in '74.

Just a drummer who loves all things about vintage drums! Nothing more, nothing less.

Okay, here's a question; When did Star switch over from Slingerland style lugs, to the longer, pointier ones? Was there any overlap I wonder, or could this be a definitive cut off point that could aid in more accurate dating... anyone? Sweet wrap on those toms - more pics!

@Walstib: yes, Sir, that wrap looks sophisticated, indeed.

To answer your question, POLdrum: no - there was no cut at any time when STAR switched from one type of lugs to another. Even the latest STAR lugs were taken over by TAMA and could be seen there for the first two or three TAMA years.
