Hi,

I'm french and I found an old snare. I have no information and I'd like to discover the manufacturer.

I look forward to all your information.

Thanks

The parallel mechanism is quite a rare thing in itself. I know Premier and Tama issued snares with these, but the lugs don't match either of those I don't think. The lugs could have been added after, however, as I notice a couple of the interior nuts don't match up. Sorry I can't give you any more info!

Tama Superstar, 22, 22, 16, 14, 13 Desert Burst
Premier Genista, 22, 16, 13, 12 Black Lacquer
Premier Genista, 20, 14, 10 and snare Black Lacquer
Premier Resonator 22, 16, 14, 13 poly creme/black
Zickos 22, 16, 14, 13, clear acrylic and snare

[COLOR="DarkRed"]This is OLD...we are talking 1950's or older.

Wow...this is probably worth something...it looks like a well-made, well-engineered mechanism in there.

Do you have a magnet, Grimm ? See if a magnet sticks to the shell (it probably will not).

Hi,

Very nice old snare drum!

I do like indeed parallel mechanisms on snare drums.

As I have no idea where it may come from, here is

a German specialist who can take care of this baby

and might lift the secret:

If you need assistance (translation into German, although

I think he understands you as well), give me a PN.

Greetings - Ralf

Cool old looking drum you got there, my friend!

The parallel mechanism seems to be well thought out and executed; a marvel of design simplicity and rugged too! (akin to Tama's King Beats).

Looks to be much beefier and far less complex than the one on my '66 Ludwig 6.5" KB Super Sensitive snare drum.

Looks to me like the shell might be steel, but could very well be COB.

Either way it would be super if it can be restored.

Do you have the snare wires and other parts for it? Are you keeping or selling it?...
