Actually, I was BS'ing you. I don't know much about your drum set. I just figured one good insult was worth another. However, having said that, I still want you to know that you are welcome to the forum! Someone will eventually answer your inquiry in an honest way, but please understand that, while this forum may be slow to respond sometimes, we pride ourselves on providing the most accurate information.

The style of lugs on your drums are the "Standard" lugs that were introduced in the late 1960s and carried through on "Rockers" series drums.

Your shells are the extended "Power toms"

The mounting hardware is the budget style Pearl-knockoffs.

Again, I apologize for BS'ing you. We're all a pretty good bunch of people around here. But, sometimes we may be slow, or we may not have the correct answer.

So, I guess he is willing to take a few hits to the ribs!

I'm going to call this a transition set prior to the Black/Red badge pictured in the 1994 catalog. So early 90's... (I do not have any early 90's catalogs)

Anytime I get a post like this I do the research to see what I can come up with.. So after studying that catalog page, look where the vent hole is under the pearl style tom mount....

That is exactly where your badge sits on this drum set.

So the drum set is just that a crossover point where they had a vent hole they mounted that badge.. Maybe they had the shells and needed to get rid of the badges etc...

So the set for $300 now that I look at it in more detail is probably at the high end of value. IF you got any hardware and cymbals with the kit then that would make it a better deal.

More once I can find the catalogs to back up the information I speak of.

you are the man!

i seen the b/r badges and said nope, cant be them.but you are right about the vent holes.also thats the only set ive seen with the same snare drum too.

great work!

the set came with a ludwig cymbal stand.a very bad sounding cb percussion crash cymbal,a ludwig hi hat stand with matching cb hi hats(puke).the hi hat stand keeps coming unscrewed so the top hat drops after a bit of playing(crappy)

I don't know... I think $300.00 for this kit is a reasonable price. Consider what you get today for $300.00, when buying a new kit. If the hardware attached to the shells is solid and the shells are in good shape, then I think you did okay. Yes, the cymbals and other hardware are likely throwaways, but that's usually the case with many modern sub-$500.00 kits today.

If you like them and they sound good, clean them up and play them proudly.

Good luck!!
