Tom mount bracket for Vintage Stewart set

Loading...

Hi all.

I recently bought a Stewart drum set 2nd hand and have started lessons for both my son, and myself.

However, it looks like the previous owner lost one of the tom mounting brackets so i can only use one tom right now. I'm having trouble finding out where i can obtain this part, and was hoping someone here could direct me.

Here's an image of the part (stole the picture from someone else's posting of a Stewart set): http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/78ca/pjvqxdp4r9rewwo5g.jpg

The piece i need is the metal bar with the L-shaped bracket that actually inserts into the Tom's bracket. Does anyone know where I can get a hold of one?

As a side note, i have no idea what this kit is worth, if it's a good kit, a bad kit, or what. I paid $50 for it, and then spent about $100 getting it fixed up as it was in pretty bad shape (ie, broken pedals, etc). Not all parts are original (ie, new hi-hat stand). Any thoughts?

Hello,Welcome

Too this great forum. Your Stewart set is made from sometime in the mid 60's till maybe about 1973 or so.Hard to tell you with with out photos..What color is it ,sizes of the drums ete..The Stewart line of drums were made by Tama before Tama was known as Tama..The shells can be 3ply with rings at each end of the shells or could have 3 rings with one in middle of the shell..Or the shell's could be 5 ply with out rings..as far as the tom mount piece i have them.Email is best you can try a P/M But my Box get's full all the time....Oh you paid 50.00 for the set with another 100.00 in it that is a ood deal for the drums...Mikey

Hi Jeff, That is a nice looking set and a hard color to come by.Looks like you have a 5 pc set in silver silk finish the lugs tells me that the set is from 1973 to about 1975.Shell's are 5 ply with out rings......Mikey

Here's my take; I personally wouldn't get too excited about the kit. (value wise) Probably 70s, though my guess would be Hoshino - foil badge? I have Stewart drums from Star, Pearl, and Hoshino. Hardware says Hoshino to me, and the lower lug count would make it a lower end model. Probably produced right at the point where they switched from the consolette style mounting system, to the more current center post through kick drum system. This type of consolette mount is problematic for a two rack tom set up, as positioning is very limited. You can probably find the part you're missing, though it may not give you the results you might expect. Personally, I'd just keep it set up as a four piece.

Mikey,

You're not answering your emails, and your forum account is full.

I've sent the funds via paypal for the tom mount, almost 2 weeks ago, but i have not heard back from you. You haven't even acknowledge the receipt of the funds, let alone confirmed shipping the part.

Can you please get back to me ASAP as to when the Tom mount will be shipped.
