Identification help

Loading...

I picked up this 15" pair of vintage cymbals and have no idea where or by who they were made. The top is exceedingly thin while the bottom is med-heavy (I don't have a scale :( ) The top has a somewhat faint stamp/marking about 3/4 of an inch from the edge (on the bottom) that says "Grade A" "Balanced". The bottom cymbal has no stamp of any kind....and I really searched them both VERY carefully for any stamps. They have somewhat distinctive hammering and they have the old-style small holes.

If a certain picture could help in identification let me know and I'll post one...

My guess is old and Italian. ......but that's a far as I go (and I indeed may even be wrong). The shiny one looks alot like a thin UFIP.

John

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

I wish I knew. Just arrived and I haven't had the chance to pull my old Ludwig HH stand out of storage. They sure sound nice giving them a couple taps in hand :)

Any ideas if there's a modern stand that would accept the old cymbals?

Thanks for the input...they seem to have that UFIP swirl on the bell which I thought could have been from roto-casting....has UFIP always used that method...even on such old cymbals?
