From Purdie Shuffle

Really impressive collection of drums! Man, I f I had all those Vista's, there would be at least one Jelly-Bean kit in the pile. Love the Vista's, I was drooling over the amber and the yellow kits.Re: Your drum room... right out of Ghostbusters... 'Spontaneous symmetrical stacking!'John

"No human could stack drums like that!"

Man that is serious drum heaven! That must be a blast.

Squint's response line was funnier: 'No human could stack drums like that!' lol

I'm including a couple of shots to help illustrate my current extremely disorganized and out of control situation. I am about to retire from my job but until I do I just don't have time to post ads to sell some of my accumulated stash of drums and yet I keep finding deals and buying drums

and have really created a very big mess. I unloaded 7 sets yesterday just to give me some breathing room and to bring in some spendable cash for pending projects. I do have some drums, for sure, but about 6 years ago I started leaning more towards the vintage side and in doing so have realized that my knowledge of vintage drums is not up to par when dealing with vintage drum "guys". I'm working on that but in the mean time I fight with this clutter daily! This is just my garage, where I put all the "extra" drums and parts and pieces. Add three bedrooms with 3 tiered shelves crammed as well as floor space I can't walk through and you get an idea of what a mess I have. I do hope to make evrything more manageable once I have more time.

Those red toms peaking out from the top left corner of the first garage picture go to a double bass Power V set..but the bass drums are 22".

Well the kit I have is older (69 or so- see my signature) and I just need a 20" hoop to get it up and running. I think a Slingerland hoop would be a close enough match, but any (wood) hoop would be considered if you have an odd one with no home.

Not much help for your rather unique situation, but it's something!

PS since you are retiring soon, have you considered opening a drum shop? You have plenty of inventory already and could probably do well for yourself as the word gets out. Just a thought.

no thought what-so-ever. Not much foot traffic here in small town U.S.A. and wouldn't need the additional overhead. Got a pretty big house that handles the mess and promised the wife not to bring anything above the ground level so it will work out okay once I get "organized" and advertise my stock. I have never wanted to deal with the internet with all this "face time" spent on the P.C. but it looks like I'll need a web site and will just have to spend the time spreading the word and doing this internet thing.

Trust me, I am not at all ready for what I'm about to bring on to myself and if it gets to be a bother then I'll just back down but I have pretty much committed myself to doing what I'm doing so we'll see. I do have some 20"

wood hoops hanging out there. I'll send you some pics of what I have that are not Ludwig ( I need those).
