$5.35. When you see the Calculate Postage listing for the Flat Rate Prioity Boxes boxes, there is an arrow on the right side of the list to show more pricing. Maybe you missed it.

Large Flat rate Priority Box: $15.45

Medium Flat rate Priority: $11.35

BUT... there are regional Priority boxes which are cheaper if you are not sending across the country. They are available online at USPS.com. The Priority Flat rate assumes transportation across the country, so there are other options available if you're shipping closer. First Class parcel rate is handled just like Priority, but rated by region, so First Class could be much cheaper than Priority if you're shipping shorter distances. Priority flat rate pays off for greater distances.

Not widely publicized is USPS Parcel Post rate. Rather than Priority Rate's 2 to 3 day delivery, it usually runs about 3 to 5 days but is much cheaper. If shipping time is not an issue, check into Parcel Post rate.

USPS rates will beat UPS rates unless you start getting into very heavy or large boxes (bass drums, stands/hardware). USPS will also beat FedEx overnight rates even though the USPS Express pieces fly side-by-side with the FedEx pieces on the very same FedEx planes. FedEx and USPS are now partners. Research your prices before shipping. It'll save you or your buyer $$.

Anyone guess yet where I work?

Thanks guys for fast replies..

I thought it was $5.35..but not pos..

I ship all the time, but very rarely use FR..I have found them to be more expensive a lot of times, unless you ship bricks or something..

Parcel Post and Priority are getting almost neck and neck in prices on lighter packages,so,I box stuff up in my own box, then when I am at the P.O.,I ask rates for both..If only 50 cents to $1 more,I'll go Priority...

On big items,it can be double though.

I am getting ready to sell a bunch of vintage strainers/butts/cowbell/woodblock holders, and don't want to mess around figuring prices to ship for each person..

FR will work good for that...

One must not forget to add a tracking number to the box. That's 85 cent's more so total would be 6.20.....Mikey

What's nice too is the Priority boxes and labels are included in the price. USPS has some great rates with fast delivery too. Yes delivery confirmation for .85 is well worth it. Easy to track. Insurance is reasonable as well. You can price everything on the website. Even if you use your own packing for larger boxes. You can also cash US postal money orders at the Post Office too. I've had them cash MO's up to $500 here.

On average I find UPS a bit more expensive these days.

I think if you pay online tracking is included free and the overall price may even be less.

Right..

I don't ship ANYTHING without tracking..

Sent $40 or $60 worth of Camco parts to a guy years ago without tracking ..said he never got it,so I had to refund the $$

I think he DID get them though!

Lesson learned..after that..nothing goes out without tracking....

I just shipped 2 Rogers Samson swivo stands in a large flat rate box today for $15.35. And there was room to pack another one in the box for the same price. Pretty good deal as tghey were pretty heavy. Something to keep in mind.

FYI - there are at least 2 different boxes labeled LARGE FLAT RATE BOX that were different physical sizes. ???
