This is not a vintage question but I bet someone can answer this for me. What is the difference between the current model Maple Custom Absolute and the Maple Custom Absolute Nouveau series? I may need to purchase a kit and want to be informed as Yamaha is new to me.
Quick question about Yamaha

Nouveau have the "Nouveau" lugs. The kind that can be loosened from the shell for faster head replacements.....
Ludwig Big Beat ´71 Citrus Mod
Sonor Hilite Exclusive Black -90
Yamaha 9000 Sunset Brown ´84
Yamaha 8000 Cobolt Blue ´90
20 different Ludwig B/O snares
Blue Label 602´s, EAK´s and a bunch of vintage A´s.
Thanks so much. I am looking for a 22-8-10-12-14-16 and possibly 18 if anyone has one. I am eyeing a few in the usual locations as well.

That should be a nice kit!
I would not turn my nose up to a 20" kick if one comes along however...

Good point. When completed it will probably have a 20" and a 24" kick. This is for rental purposes and it is best to pretty much have any size available. From the same kit I could make a 24-13-16-18 or a 20-12-14, etc. Basically whatever the artist wants.

I did not realize it was for rental... In that case, yes, keep a variety for sure!
Do you think the 24 will be as popular as the 20? To me it seems the trend is toward smaller drums these days... Yamahas always seem to sound 'bigger' than they are anyway...
