Pearl Fiberglass Restoration

Set this kit up for some photos and took it to a gig. 24, 13 and 16. All original parts, looking for some era correct mufflers, bass drum legs and floor tom legs. Still cleaning up the 12 inch.

Gary! The kit looks great! Very novel of how you were able to incorporate the cymbal arm on the bass drum. Too cool!

Greg, they sound great. Very full, resonant and warm. Coated Emps on top, smooth whites on bottom. I dig the fiberglass sound very much.

Thanks Mark. As heavy as the bass drum is, I thought it would have no issue holding up the ride cymbal. You know me, I like the ride sitting up over the bass drum as if it were on a Ludwig bass drum cymbal mount. Just a little beefier version for mine.

Nice job looking really good. Very creative use of hardware for that ride.

Thanks John, the tom mount is hex shaped like Rogers and a multi-clamp fits very snugly. I'm still trying to get it more symmetrical, the offset angle drives me crazy.......

The mat is made by Roadrunner and I got it at Guitar Center. My only beef is that the triangle bumper that's in front of the bass drum has become loose from the stitching

Thanks Mikey, the legs are original, but one of the threaded inserts is fabricated and I'd like to get the originals, as well as the mufflers. I need a few things for it, I'll PM you. In the meantime, here's another pic from the gig.

That's a pretty slick bit of work, BBK. I'm liking the idea of the fiberglass drums. I've seen a few of them, but I was always too gunshy to pull the trigger. Cool for you that got to spend some time with these.
