Hi Folks,
I picked this one up over the weekend and gave it a good cleaning.
We're looking at a 1951 olympic model 1151W. (W for white)
This one is the 5.5" version with a white lacquer over brass shell.
This particular model was manufactured in the early 1950's in the Premier factories and was available in 5.5" or 6.5" depth and the choice of finish was black or white.
It has 8 "deco" lugs and gorgeous die cast hoops. ( notice the different pattern between top and bottom hoop)
The snares are the original "NEW ERA 16 strand".
Odd is the orientation of the badge. It should be turned 90° counter clockwise but isn't because of the centre bead.
Olympic is considered to be Premier's entry range,… I can't find a lot of "entry" on this fine snare,…
Hope you like it.
