Another kit in my local classifieds. Raven. Wondering what you guys make of these. They look pretty clean and tidy to me. Cheers

That's cool - (orange/gold kit) - but you darn well better have snagged those BDP ones also on your photobucket page - those are way too cool to let go!

BTW, both of these kits have the same T-rods. I could use some of those if you want to sell any of them, I think I need like 6 of them.

Years ago, I had a Raven bass guitar. I couldn't play it worth a damn but, it was fun! I'm not sure if your drums are Star or Pearl. I suspect Pearl. I may be wrong of course. Whatever the brand, they look pretty cool!

Your set is one made by Pearl.I can't see the badges so giving a date is hard to do.But if the badge's are made of metal they would be from 1967-73 if the badges are sticker type from 1974-77....Mikey

Mikey -

Wait a minute - have I got this all wrong? It is my understanding that those T-rods are Star as are the FT leg mounts. I have seen those on Star kits - were they made by both Pearl and Star????

Yes, T-rods could be Star.

Floor tom brackets: maybe.

Lugs: hard to tell from the distance.

But the rail consolette isn't Star. So that makes the difference. ;)

This one is a Pearl drumset.

John,The T-rods are Pearl made ones they do look like Star type ones. The threads on the Pearl ones would be 1/4 20 corse thread. The lugs are Pearl again Star looking but the Pearl lugs are a line or bump at the bottom of the lug next to shell.Star lugs do not have this. The tom mount is a Pearl Star never used that type of mount..Ok schools out.....Mikey
