Need help with Supra throw off

Thank you Vipercussionist!! I'm off to buy some Ludwig cord now. I wanted to wait and make sure I didn't waste my money; thank you again for the heads up. I think I'll stay away from the Joe Montineri for now, because although I will leave a note on my drums before the next singing, lots of people act like they are illiterate.

BTW, how about Bonzo on 'Achilles Last Stand'? That is some of the best hard rock drumming I've ever had the pleasure to hear; and the DVD version is better than the original recorded version, IMHO. Bonham was a monster, and that stainless steel kit just roared under his masterful touch.

Vipercussionist, thanks for the excellent links! I have some of those recordings, but nowhere near all 23; needless to say I updated my bookmarks and will be downloading those after I buy the cord.

I love your MySpace page as well. Excellent drums (duh!), and the same take no prisoners fan I've been thinking about buying to replace my wimpy one...ironic. I also love your description of your drumming style, those are truly masters of the art, so like you said - have fun!! Walking

And the name of one of your albums is classic - membranophones!!!!!!! :D

You are welcome of course, that's why there ARE forums, to help others!!

Bonham is the guy I think of most when I think of how I want to sound, there are plenty of other drummers I think of as I play, but he is the most prominent.

You would think at church people would be on their best behavior and not mess with things!!

I agree. But unfortunately, some people have no manners. I bought a used Flying Dragon pedal and an Iron Cobra Jr. because they tighten my DW 5000AD way too tight for my taste; so they can go crazy on those pedals...whichever one I decide to leave that night - I like to keep them guessing!! Mind Blowi

I just noticed you built that page...as my Mom says when someone does something nice for her, "May the Lord bless you a hundred fold for your kindness!!" I've been looking for all those clips, as well as the background story on each. Not only did you cover that, you also found the Paiste agreement! We are not worthy!!!!!!!!!!!!

The cords will have to wait a little longer, I've hit the mother lode!! Can you tell I try to channel Bonzo as well when I'm playing? He, Mr. Rich, Mr. Paice, The Loon, Mr. London, Mr. Watts, and Mr. Albright (Waylon Jennings monster of a drummer) are always in my head when I play. Hey, I'm 1/2 Irish, so there is plenty of room for them and then some!! Thank you again! :)

Hello again everybody!!

I had to drop back in and let you all know I finally got my '64 Supra back to it's vintage state!! I got a very nice p-83 strainer and butt end off of sticksaerobics on ebay, some Ludwig cord, and now I'm off to the races. Walking As I read on the forum here as well, the 1/8" trick is a powerhouse of a tip - thank you!! I don't think I'll be having any more problems with the snares being tightened to the point of slippage - something will have to break first!! Yes Sir I mean that in a good way, but if they do break it, they bought it - new rule I came up with after the frustration I've went through.

I also had to drop back by and thank you all again for your very valuable expertise and wisdom. I didn't want to just troll and then not acknowledge your kindness.

May the Lord bless you all a hundred fold,

B.R.R. AKA Leonard or Lenny

Someone might have already said this but I would try wraping the plastic over and then down through the strainer and butt end. I can be a heavy hitter (on occasion) and this has helped me with my 70's Supra.
