Yes. That was the Artstar Cordia sets. 9mm bass and 6mm toms/snare. It was birch with an inner and outer of South American Cordia. They had a pretty good sound. The look was much better than the sound, though. They were pretty. They come up fairly often (about twice a year) around these parts (the forum et al). Stick around, you'll see some.

Hmmmm

If I remember right, Simon Phillips also used to play the Cordia Artstars until the Artstar II was released at the end of the 80s.

Listen to Pete Townsend´s "White City"-Album (the three songs: "Give Blood", "Face the Face" and "Second Hand Love", that Simon played) or, even better, watch the same titled film and see him perform with Pino Palladino and other great musicians - you don´t think that´s a great sound?

To me, they sounded at least as good as they looked!

The power of the written word ... again, not what I said.

Put the emphasis on "LOOK" and "They were pretty" instead of the other way.

I'm saying that the kit was absolutely stunning. it overshadowed the sound ... ANY sound, really.

It does get frustrating at times. I'm quite familiar with Pete and Simon and the sounds created therein. Thanks.
