Roxy Gold Sparkle parallel strainer snaredrum

Loading...

This one is part of a 5 piece kit from 1959. It is the high end snare for its time made in the Tromsa factory, badged Roxy for Rudolf Linnek's export business. Almost all Tromsa drums ending up in N.A. were badged Roxy. The Gold Sparkle wrap on this is extremely fine grained and glossy and is a little more yellow than the pictures show. I have only ever seen Trixon drums with the same wrap. It is 14x5,16 individual lugs. The wires are original 12 strand carbon steel. Three ply Poplar shell with two ply beech rerings. Tromsa used this shell formulation for snaredrums for at least 30 years.

my pleasure . i just became camera capable. i might over do it.---- the Germans very much favoured the single end lug design, as did the Brits to some degree. the design can raise caine with thin shells, when overtensioning, though.

never even thought of that. But it looks cool, I have seen other drums with the staggered lugs and have always like that.

Khm... it seems to me that all the pics are completely good, Phil.
