Pearl snare drum

here is my first Pearl snare drum in Black Pearl..it also came with the original pearl key!..can anyone enlighten me further on its year and any other information..

All i have is the badge is 60's but not sure when??

I once had a late 60s Pearl kit, 12, 14, 20, w/ a 14 snare. Same badge, but the lugs on my snare were more rounded. I wonder if your's is earlier...

Hey, "D", Your drum is from about 1966-70..The lugs are battleship lugs..Is the shell 5 ply with no rings or 3 ply with rings..If the shell is 3 ply its from 1966-69 or 5 ply 1969-late 1970....What strainer is on the drum?....Mikey

Hi Mikey,thanks mate.. its a 5 ply i think mate as no rings..and i attach a photo of the strainer...my god, it is so clean inside and 10/10 perfect condition..even the key is in great shape too..would have thought it were 66-67 but makes sense what you say..

been after this wrap for ages..really like it..Jump For Joy

Yea mikey cleared it up for me! Mine would have been the earlier set. I sure do miss them! Gave them to a good friend of mine, who was the original owner, in our area... not the first owner. It was passed to a few different drummer friends for a while. Maybe one day ill get them back!

Hey "D"- That photo of the strainer would date your drum from mid 1969 on.The first strainer in that shape that Pearl used was more rounded at the end near were the snare wire cord goes.Your strainer has the bar piece at the end...Mikey
