Is it possible to knock down a bit of the seam under the lug? Maybe use a dremel on a slower speed to just slightly angle it flush? Of course tape off everything around it to protect against a "oops". Or if it's not too big a deal leave it as is. Either way nice work and it's been fun to watch this one.

I think I would have to do alot of grinding to help it out so I am going to leave it as is. Once the drums is finished and you look at it as a whole and focused on one lug, it will be fine. But thanks for the idea, always like to hear suggestions from outside the shop.

Yep you are probably better off leaving it as is. I agree it really won't matter when they are all together and your playing them. The steel wrap looks so cool too. Like a mirror. ;)

Well,,, its almost done. I realized as I was taking pictures, no badge. I am considering on taking it apart again and having the lugs and hoops re-chromed since they look bad against the brand new stainless steel. Then I can glue on the badge using my strap clamp. But I will play it first.

Very hard to see but maybe pic #2 lug on the far right side?? LOL just a guess and with all the reflections from the T rods.

Snare looks excellent!

Thank you! I do not have any buddies in the plating biz so it will have to wait until I can afford it. After looking at the drum all day, Im pretty happy with it as is. I will go ahead and finish the rest of the kit for now.

Finally got the snare wires on the drum and in the process of tuning up. This drum has no muffler and I am getting a ringing sound like you get from steel snare shells. Any advice on how to get rid of it? For now my Ludwig Acrolite snare sound better.
