Here is my latest Trixon snare drum Model 1/300, it has a metal shell with black covering..boy is it damn heavy..

As you can see it has the early badge which was used until 1956, it also has the original Trixon thick tension hoop flanged inwardly with the trixon logo on it and even the quick damper and screw damper have trixon engraved on them..

Been after one of these for a while now, so i am totally delighted to grab this and thought i would share it with you all..

Heyyyyy. what a beaut. I have a chrome one but a little newer.----and they are heavy. Terrific that it has the original snare hangers, with the holes for the tunable snares. ----probably can adapt something , there?

When you get around to playing this beast----I think you will become very fond of the hoops. The are supreme.----badge is worth 50.00 ,alone.

Your snare release lever is the old cast type too-----supposedly used in 1950/51 but the bottom rim has an integral Trixon logo snare guard, used between '54 and '56, rather than the rivetted on type , supposedly used up to '54. Perhaps they made up a bunch of Sinfonie shells in the early years and then put heads and hoops on them as they sold?

Looking at the snare hanger once again------are those holes original or were they added in to fit some other adjustable wires? The original wire settup for the Sinfonie I have seen pictures of ,isn't like that.

My drum is from about 1957 and has the typical hanger with the little plastic Trixon logo. I have not figured out what kind of wires it carried. There doesn't seem to be anything different about it so perhaps it had the standard 18 strand wires.

Does yours have polished hardwood bearing edges or a composite material?

Hi Phil...polished hardwood edges my friend, the snare hanger holes are definately original after double checking them,

i still cannot believe that this drum is in my collection, especially as i have been after an old badge Trixon for approx 2 years.
