I have a 14x24 cocktail drum - 6ply (much to my own disappointment - long story there).
I may want to restore it. I can see pictures of the drum in the on-line catalogs.
It would help me a lot if someone here has a drum and could send me a list (photos too?) - post there here maybe - of what I would need to look for ....over the years probably...to be able to complete a restoration of this fine drum.
In the third photo - is that an extra hole in the shell near the lug? Or, is this for an attachment of some kind?
I can't find a 14x24 shell with two heads anywhere in the old Gretsch catalogs - the two headed drums are all 28 and some 26.
CLUE THAT IT MAY BE AFTER-AFCTORY:
There is some silver sealer paint-over on the bottom head bearing edge.
The lugs - top and bottom - do not line up = they're staggered.
The bearing edge on the top head is like other Gretsch tom edges I've seen including my own drums. The bearing edge on the bottom head (suspect head) is different more flat and like I mentioned above has some silver sealer on it.
