Now - just very carefully - remove that badge and send it to me! LolVery nice!I'm looking for one for my late 30's (39 I think) 14" tom. What a beauty! It's green too!My drum uses a different badge - not sure - but I think mine had a badge that was more of a rectangle. At least that's what I think the marks are on the original shell (drum's not in front of me right now).

thanks so much for the reply Kona..

glad you like it mate, im very happy to have it in my collection..

sounds andf looks great..still think it is late 30's..

No I did not - thanks for the link.

I'd love to go over to 'Jolly old England' for a holiday and look up some relatives. I've never been over there. I think I'd drive my wife crazy with all my 'looking for Carlton drums.' It sure would be a good time though....

I'm retiring - last day of work Dec 19 this year - and I want to get over there - to England etc. looking forward to it.

For what it`s worth, I was researching Brittish drums today and I remembered this badge Q. I recognized it from here and thought to give you a little more info.

It`s listed as a pre war made by Dallas on this page

Uhhhh, it'll be a little tough getting that one, as my late illustrious dear friend, Bob Pengilly once said of me, the "claw" got itViolin

I`m sure that`s where I got the pic from, pretty sure !!

Other than the wrap,...the snare looks very close to the one diamond has !!

Hey Gary, You could spend a year there and never find anything, most of the stuff, if available, ends up on Ebay. This year was a good year for me for finding Carlton drums, a console, Raytex tube lug bass, a Raytex snare(USA), a couple of bass drums and toms and a couple of snares. Alot of the finds were discovered by friends like Paul Bryans and Simon Grenfell and never saw the light of Ebay.

Ya - I hear ya. It is good to have friends in the music industry to look around for you there. We're probably still going though. My wife has relatives in Scotland and I have some in Whitby....never met them.

Hmmm - I did meet Carl Palmer once....wonder if he'd give me a deal on the Gladstone kit....There is no way he'd remember me..haha = I'm dreamin.

I was one of those stary-eyed concert goers and just happened to be in a music store in Vancouver at the same time he was there and said hello that's about it.

You never know where you'll find that special drum though - they turn up in the darndest places I hear.

I've got this ole drum key so far....it came with my Carlton snare with the slot-headed t-rods.
