Two 22" old stamp K's...a poll

Loading...

I'd like to run a poll to find out which of these 2 old stamp K's you prefer. Both are 22's, and both are exactly the same trademark vintage. The only difference is that first one weighs 2348g and the second weighs 2591g.

I personally prefer the second one, I really like the sound of it. In comparison to the other, I the wash seems to be lower and the stick definition really pops. Just my opinion! Also, What's the latin beat being played in the beginning of the second recording?

Thanks,

Ron

Cymbal choices are subjective. I can't explain why, but I like the first one. It just sounds better to me.

I prefer K #1 (2300 grams). A little too much wash on K #2. Both are fantastic, though. It's really a case of splitting hairs.

My vote is for #2. The stick sound is outstanding on both cymbals but I prefer the more distinct bell sound of #2. Both beautiful sounding cymbals, though.

I voted K#2, although # 1 is by far a better sounding cymbal, it would get all messed up by my hard hit`n rock. #1 just wont do for Rock !!

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

I really didn't like either. They both lacked in areas.

1 had a nice brightness but was a bit thick sounding. It held it's clang just under the wash and never opened up wide enough.

2 was just too stiff and dark. It was somewhat one dimensional and couldn't reach into the upper registers. It hid the stick.

I know these must be sweet cymbals but we are a subjective and opinionated animal. They just didn't do it for me.
