Interesting Pearl kit on German feebay

Hi all,

just wanted to let you know what appeared to me today:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Pearl-Monsterkesselsatz-8-Hangetoms-/300716800166?pt=Drums_Percussion&hash=item46041e38a6

The ad says, that one T-rod and claw is missing as well as are all the tom holder arms. The wrap has some spots here and there, no extra holes in the shells.

Seller ships worldwide, shipping costs vary. 48,- Euros to Germany, foreign bidders have to ask.

It´s at 76,- Euros (approx. 94,- USD) at the moment with 3d 22h left. Maybe someone can make a good deal on those!?

They seem to be in good condition, and the rectangle tag below the badge indicates them as wood-fiberglass-shells Cool1, if I know right.

Cheers, Lissy

OK, so...a little update:

Just had another look into the ad, and it seems as if some shill bidding might be going on here...?

A member with only 1 (one!) review has been setting 6 bids within 1 minute and so pushed the price up to 93,- Euros.

Think this probably will be interesting to consider...

Hi Bill,

sorry, I thought when I just translate the most important facts, it´ll be OK.

But it´s no problem, I´ll try my very best for you :) :

"Hi,

here I´m offering my Monster Pearl shellset with 8 rack-toms for sale. The Rocktoms have the following sizes (-diameter, the ed. :D ): 6", 8", 10", 12", 13", 14", 15",16". The bassdrum is 22". One standard t-rod and it´s claw are missing. The sound and the fun while playing this is to die for! The finish is olive green and has some spots partially. Unfortunately there are no tom holder arms anymore. They got lost in my former rehearsal room. The drums can be test-played and inspected in Recklinghausen by agreement. The drums do not have any extra holes. The sound is amazing! One of the best that Pearl ever built IMO. I can´t state for sure that everything is 100% original. But as far as I know it is.

Please notice that I don´t accept Paypal in no case, even if it might be stated above!

Payment is via bank transfer or cash when pick up.

I gladly would ship this set at appropriate expense. Within Germany I´m charging 48,- Euros. Please feel free to ask for international shipping costs. They might vary."

This text is followed by the usual terms that are listed to save private seller´s rights, and that the kit is "sold as is" and blablabla ;) .

I have to apologize in advance for my translation - my English seems to be a bit rusty - it´s been a long time since I learned this language at school :D .

But I sincerely hope that it will please your request.

Thank you for the "brain-jogging" you gave me doing this! I enjoyed it.

Hi Bill,

no problem at all! You´re welcome, brother.

To me this was more like a challenge than an effort.

Glad to know that I could help you and your friend out in this case!

They went for 561,09 Euros = 697,68 USD.

Don´t know if this is real, because another "buyer" with a - to me - too little number of reviews to be true has been drivin´ the price up from 300,- to 501,- Euros in less than a minute short time before bidding ended.

So it didn´t end up as a steal at all.
