22"PAISTE STAMBUL before and after

I had this cymbal for a while now , at the time i had no ideal what i had due to the crud , bird $#!T , grease , you name it was on there a true barn fresh cymbal , with zero musical tone to it. I was just about to give it away. so i decided to use this cymbal for a before and after pic's for a up comming promotion i will be doing , show me your worst cymbal and win a free cleaning and polishing and tee-shirt deal. Now the cymbal look good agin and sound like it need's to be played in a big band enviroment. I'm a fan of keeping my cymbals in new as possible condition , i know cleaning cymbals can be a hot topic. i would like to know what you guy's think of my work. if any one is wondering it will be up for sale or trade in the near future.

i just love a clean brite cymbal nice

I would have liked to hear before and after soundfiles too.

Cleaning brings out more tonality. That's a plus that goes beyond just the visual aesthetics.

It's more than visual what we do in my shop. With me it's all about sound first and not just BLING BLING. i know cymbal and drum sounds my friend i have and still i'm with some tough a$$ drummers , sound men , studios that are very very hard to please , we dont have to defend what we do our customers and our reputation do that for us.

Your right drumaholic a sound sample should be apart of my up comming cymbal promotion , and we will to de-bunk that myth that old nasty negleted cymbal are better sounding than one's that's have been cared for by their owners. Once we are up and going with my promotion i will extend the contest to any one here on VDF.

Take a cymbal for example, It makes one sound when you hit it here, another sound when you hit it there, it makes one sound when you hit it this hard, and another sound when you wack it this hard, it makes another sound when you throw it into the parking lot and let it bounce and roll around !!

The reality is that your audience determins if your sound is good !!

Stevie Wonder said it best,..."just because a record has a groove,..don`t make it "in the groove" and you can tell right away, a letter "A"...when the people start to move !!

Not sure what it looked like before cleanning or how it was cleaned, but a Stambul, Nickle Silver will always clean-up well !!

All sound's are subjective to one ears. what a person likes may be horible to the next guy. This thread is about pro cymbal cleaning and brining back the sound in a cymbal once it's reached the point of any standard cleaning methode that one can do at home.
