Re-rewrap contact cement Hell - Help!

Check out your lacal craigslist. You can get a decent camera for $30-$40. You dont need a 12 megapixel. Canon is my preference.......

I don't have a decent camera of my own, so I'll be borrowing one from work this week to snap some photos.I am excited to see how my idea works too - I'd rather not have a huge bald spot on the back of the drum, but I know any wrap I order will not match perfectly anyway - so I figure this will be a low-cost way to make the drum look complete. It may also be a great way to patch small holes in wraps.Rolling the inside of the shells worked great! I used a small foam (no spatter) roller and a foam brush (to do the seams, etc.). I was able to roll right up to the bearing edge successfully without getting any on the edges.

As a 'before' set, here are a couple of pics of the set as it was sold to me. You can see the cheap black wrap, the black painted interior on the floor tom.

It also included a 70s 6.5x14" Dynasonic, 2 pairs of 14" 70s Zildjians (New Beats and standard A hats), and 4 Pearl fiberglass concert toms (6/8/10/12).

Yes, although the 6/8/10/12 are not Ludwigs - they're Pearl fiberglass - they actually sound pretty funky.

For anyone interested - you saw the 'before' pics. This is the 'after'.

Still need one hoop inlay strip (I've got enough original material from the hoops to make one good one) - no inlays installed yet.

And I still need to patch the rear section of the 13" - haven't quite found the solution yet. But it's never visible when the kit's set up and I'm a player, so it's suiting me fine as-is. The original consolette holes are filled and hide well in the oyster with a dab of black marker... the unfortunate single-post mount will stay unless I decide to rewrap.

I also need a new (old) reso bass drum head.

Side note: I don't always use so many cymbals... I was just feeling adventurous when I set them up.

Lemme know what you think! Not a bad score for $200!

Thanks JC! I think so too - by the time I sell off the remaining stuff that came with them, they will have cost me even less. I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

Wow. Aren't you glad you took that wrap off!

What a stunner.

Can we have a close up to see how the wrap came out in the end?
