Can anyone give me any info on the Rogers Superten snare? I have a chance to buy one, but don't know much about it. Are they really good for Funk?
Thanks,

Chrome over Steel shell. Same lugs as Dynasonic. I have one for blues and works very well. Brighter than COB dyna with great crack. Underappreciated and can usually be had for a nice price. What is the asking price? Heads will determine more change in sound.
Lots more info here:
Actually, MUCH MORE information here:

In most cases, the information you seek is already on this forum! Enjoy!!

Amos & Tommy...
Thanks for all the great info! Got the drum for under $250.00 with original case...will be here in a day or so. I'll give it a whirl with the head it has but, I'm partial to the Remo Powerstroke 3. It seems to give the right amount of dampening without having to do much more than maybe a Moongel, depending on the gig.
I'll keep you posted as I move along
Thanks again!!
Keep it funky,

Forget the Powerstroke. Go with an Evans J1 Etched, 2.5 turns above finger tight. Open that drum up and let it sing.
Well..thanks to all again....Just finished cleaning and putting her together..tuning....Ploughman...I like the, "Doe" sound on the snare side...rather than "De"(lower than most, I'm sure)..then, the Powerstroke 3....this drum really has something special!....I can get the power of a Solid Wood when played just right, and all the Crack I need, when I need it..
I agree that these things don't get the credit they deserve!!!
