Vintage Zildjians need dating - 14" hats Last viewed: 6 days ago

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum, so thought I would start with asking for some help in dating a few old Zildjians. More specifically - 14" hats at 670 & 710 grams, pictured below. Since I'm limited to 5 images per post, I'll post the other cymbals (15" hats and two 20" rides) individually. Also, I have additional pictures of all of these if you need them. Your expert advice would be greatly appreciated.

Later 1950's, both.

What with all this obsession about trademark dates anyway? I don't get it.

You guy's got Asberger's or something?

That last statement was said with tongue in cheek of course; lest anybody should misconstrue my intent at trying to be humorous. That apparently bombed, but I figured that everybody by now probably knows I'm the biggest OCD trademark geek that ever came down the pike. I invented this stuff for Pete's sake.

That was just a feeble attempt at self-deprecating humor.

And that's not to be confused with "self-defecating" humor, which is where you tell a joke that's so incredibly funny that you actually soil yourself laughing. But this one apparently didn't even come close to doing that either. My apologies.

But keep those questions coming and I'll try to be funnier next time. This has been a public service announcement from Drumaholic Enterprises LTD. A wholly own subsidiary of Cymbal Insultants INC., where I am chairman of the board.

Void where prohibited...(eg. Cymbalholic)
